Birthday: June 01, 1959 Hometown: San Diego Website: www.veteransjournal.net Occupation: Business manager My Quote: About Me: I am a patriot here in San Diego. I manage Veterans Journal, www.veteransjournal.net We are very active advocates for USA Veterans her in San Diego. See the site at "About us" to see our accomplishments. My most recent tasks have turned out to be successful. In 2006, I raised over $90,000 to fund the "Final Reunion" which enabled 68 local Pearl Harbor Survivors to return to Pearl for the 65th annual commeration of the attack. We have also worked very hard to expose the fact that Fort Rosecrans Cemetery has not been able to inter any caskets since 1965. There was no contigency plan. My partner David Brown led the assault and caused the VA and local representation to plan for an annex which is still a couple of years away from availability. We submitted a plan to temporarily hold caskets in San Diego, rather than continuing to ship them to the National Cemetery at Riverside, CA over 100 miles from most of San Diego. The VA turned us down flatly and instead agreed to build space for 3800 cremains at Ft. Rosecrans, but no solution for keeping caskets. Local families and loved-ones of SD Veterans had shelled out hundreds of millions of dollars burying their veterans in private commercial cemeteries at the cost of $8,000 to $12,000 in the past 42 years. This is not fair according to the agreement all veterans have with the Federal Government. We have been told, unofficially, that we caused the columbarium to be built so the VA could show a significant response. We're not done yet. Join us at Stand-Fast and know that we are in your corner!
