Birthday: May 15, 2049 Hometown: tampa fl Occupation: 100% Disabled Vet My Quote: About Me: I am a disabled Vietnam vet. I worked for 20 years at the Post Office until my disabilities forced me to retire. Regarding the OIF I have seen it all before in Vietnam where they always talked about the light at the end of the tunnel. Thousands of men died while Nixon promised to bring an honorable peace. This was all a lie. It was just his political ambitions that sent me and thousands of others to Vietnam. I came back to the USA in 1970 from Vietnam feeling confused and shocked that no one seemed to care about what we were going through in Nam. They only cared about making money or dodging the draft. I was an outcast among my generation as we all were due to our short haircuts and uniforms. I spent 18 months in the states at the usual remote Army Posts in the middle of nowhere until I was discharged. I went back to school feeling like the world had changed while I was sweating it out in Vietnam. The VA and the Veteran service organizations were openly hostile to me because I was only in a police action and not a war according to them. My generation of vets were ignored and our reputations were smeared as baby killers, drug addicts and nut cases. This is what happens to vets of an unpopular war. I hope this does not happen to the OIF and Gulf War vets.
