Georgia Birthday: January 01, 1900 My Quote: "How loudly we cheered them onward as they laced up their boots has no relevance once they've done their job. It's how well we took care of them when they return that really defines our true moral character." I.L. Meagher
About Me: I am the proud parent of two soldiers enlisted in the Army. I support the men and women of the military but I will not support those soldiers or leaders who abandoned, deny, harm or disrespect their comrades. I have had other family members in the Army but it was years ago and I have always been a strong avdocate and supporter of the Army but no more. If my son's had not been injured during basic they would have been star soldiers and went on to love the Army. Their problems began when they received injuries, one back and leg injuries in late 2005 which have still not been treated. And the second one a fractured tibia, confirmed by the Army 'medical' staff in early April of 2007, but he was given no treatment and finally he was seen again and given an x-ray because he could not walk in late June of 2007, the fracture had 'opened' and they still did not offer any treatment except to put him in PTRP and prescribe 'walking two miles a day' and 'riding a stationary bicycle'. When I called to ask a chaplain on base if he could drop down and encourage/pray with him, he asked me what was going on with my soldier I told him which was a huge mistake. The chaplain began to yell at me, tell me my son was 'not telling me the whole story' and basically that I was wasting their time, lying about his injuries etc. He then said he would talk to him face to face and make sure he was ok, which he didn't. I received another phone call two days later from someone saying they were a chaplain then said they weren't and he did the same thing, screamed at me and told me that he couldn't do anything he wasn't a doctor. I of course told him I never asked anyone to do anything just to drop by when they could and encourage/pray with my son because he was down because he couldn't graduate with his unit. The arrogance and indifference we have experienced personally is ridiculous, what our soldiers must have to endure is close to criminal. If they are hurt they are treated as criminals given no passes, no calls nothing it's as if the Army thinks they want to sit down there do nothing and being hurt. All my son's wanted was to get well so they could get back to their units and continue training but now when they are not being ignored and abandoned they are being ridiculed and screamed at. As the loved ones of these soldiers we have to help them because the Army has cast them aside.
