Member of Cold War & American Cold War Veterans Associations. My Memberships: 1st Cavalry Division (First Team), 4th Infantry Mechanized Division (Ironhorse), and 8th Infantry Mechanized Division (Pathfinders). A Current Member of Veterans for Common Sense, and Veterans for America. Involved in Humanitarian Missions in Central California 12 years worked with homelesss, missions, and shelters. I volunteered 8 years Los Angeles County Probation Camps: Aflerbaugh, Rockey, Paige, and Biscauliz: various capacities. My enlistment began last semester at Ontario High School, South Ontario, California, and only one of five children to serve in the U.S. military. I was assigned to Airmobile/Infantry & Mechanized Infantry, Mechanized Combat Engineers, River Rats, and Civil Affairs. My Military Occupational Speciality allowed the use of assault weapons. There were various combat and support branches I have been around to serve with: Air Defense Artillery, Armored and and Mechanized, Engineers, Civil Affairs, Medical, Supply, Ordinance, and Aviation. Many who have served in a theater of operations, would know our weapons accompany us, whether it be for eating, sleeping, and using the latrine. Further recall digging trenches, ditches, foxholes, and filling sandbags. There was field time: combat patrols, river rat riverine operations, perimeter detail: ammo dumps, motor pools, base gates, and guard duty. I performed radio telephone operator, mine detection, and reconnaisance. As I look back, education was helpful to enlisted and commissioned officer promotion in active and provisional army reserve. I achieved colonel in 2001, and departed end of 2004. I received numerous Certificates of Completions at Adult Education Center, ABC Unified School District; Long Beach Womens Shelter for Domestic Violence Certification; received an Associate of Arts Degree and Certificate of Achievements at Cerritos & Long Beach Community Colleges for Chemical Dependency, Criminal Justice, and Human Services; and B.A. equivalent Social work: CSU, Long Beach.
