+Recommend this blog Pursuant to your recent trip to Georgia, and your warning that “Russia’s actions in Georgia will have consequences,” I want to plead for your resistance to pressures for an irreversible revival of the cold war. That is what America’s unconditional support for Georgia could well amount to. I say that because the new cold war would be more than just another military measure. It would also be a political act of the first magnitude.

+Recommend this blog The BUSH WHITE HOUSE and their propaganda branch, FOX NEWS, continue to lie to the American public about the success of "the surge" and how things have calmed down in Iraq. On Sunday a U.S. soldier was killed in Iraq and bombers have stepped up their attacks on U.S. troops.

+Recommend this blog Salon.com has recently reported on an expedition of Iraq war vets who’ve been sent back to Iraq as embedded reporters. On the surface this seems like a a good idea, but behind this particular “journalistic” enterprise is a conservative activist group capitalizing on “the cost savings of the military's embed program” in the interest of allowing the activists to “come home and proselytize for the Republican presidential candidate's position on the war.”
