+Recommend this blog The leading GOP contenders are all die-hard fans of the war. And the newest star in the show--Fred Thompson, the former Republican senator from Tennessee, onetime lobbyist and TV actor who has all but officially announced his candidacy--might be the most neoconnish of all.

+Recommend this blog Virtually all labor on the US embassy in Baghdad is being done by laborers from the Philippines, from Pakistan, from Lebanon and other countries, and that none — let me repeat this, because it is damned important: NONE — knew or suspected they were headed to Iraq, and that ALL were under the impression they were going to work in Dubai!

+Recommend this blog Impressed with the soldiers and his brother at graduation from the Army my son 'S' decided he wanted to do more with his life than sit behind a desk so he quit a good paying job and left a nice, comfortable life to serve his country and in his words 'do something important' in his life. He believed the Army values and creed, what he did not know is that the Army did not uphold or believe those same values.

+Recommend this blog I am new to this but feel it necessary to voice my and my son's experiences with the Army and it's staff if for no other reason than others should be made aware of what it's really like in the Army. We have to speak for them because they have no voice.

It is distributed to all NaVOBA members.

+Recommend this blog Seeing photos of a president, vice-president, attorney general, defense secretary, and any and all others in leg chains and orange jump-suits will not irreparably scar the American psyche, and it may (hopefully) deter future administrations from feeling they too are above the law.

+Recommend this blog I thought he said “82d Airborne,” but there’s as much chance I’m wrong as there is I’m right. Indeed, there’s as much chance he was never in the military, let alone the army, as there is he once served his country. Before we got any farther in the exchange security quite politely and gently led him from the park and the concert.

+Recommend this blog “So . . . Hmm, like can you tell us ‘how’ you support the troops?”
“They’re always in my prayers.”
“Well, I suspect most of them appreciate that. But I’m curious, when you were at the blackjack table, were you praying for the troops or to hit your number?” That really ticked the woman off.

+Recommend this blog It's called "caging," and it's a federal felony. And the admionistration is up to its neck. In the United States Presidential Election of 2004, the Republican Party employed this process to challenge the validity of tens of thousands of black voter registrations in contested Florida, Nevada, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

+Recommend this blog It has been decades since the most privileged members of society — corporations, the wealthy, white people who want to attend school with other whites — have had such a successful Supreme Court term. Society’s have-nots were not the only losers. The basic ideals of American justice lost as well.

+Recommend this blog Given the undue ATTENTION that the Pentagon has given the IVAW Bus tour out of an OVERWHELMING FEAR that a few courageous Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans joining Generals that served in combat in Iraq SPEAKING OUT against the war or even just questioning the progress of IRAQINAM could have on getting more "thinking" troops to join in opposition to the war, the collective WE though it a decent idea to publish the rest of the IVAW bus tour schedule.

+Recommend this blog This UPDATE is related to several on-going BLOGS and is a call to action asking our readers to put pressure on Congress and the Pentagon to BACK OFF on the Gestapo-type harassment and intimidation of Veterans that served in Iraq and Afghanistan by either detaining them near military base like the prisinors at GTMO or worse threatening to downgrade Honorable Discharges or other disciplinary actions to IRR members.

+Recommend this blog This Blog was forwarded to me for reposting on my Blog courtesy of Iraq War Vet Sgt. Adam Kokesh of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW). This is part of the continuing saga on the extremes to which the NEOCONS FEAR the anti-IRAQINAM war movement, but especially Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans that have the courage to speak out. INTIMIDATION is the weapon of a weak minded, authoritarian, oppressive regime. CONGRESS, WE THE PEOPLE will not allow THIS ADMINISTRATION to do in America what it has done to Iraq, especially to OUR OWN VETERANS!!!
