Recommend this blog The point and the issue I take with Paul Sullivan’s call for Cheney’s resignation: it ain’t just Cheney by a long shot, which are also the odds of his resignation; even if we can only hope.

Recommend this blog Any Veteran or Veterans Group that questions IRAQINAM will be associated with Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) and VVAW. As follow up to my Blog about VoteVets.org board member and advisor Major General. John Batiste, USA-Retired, I did a Google search to find another good example of how Neo-Conservative Veterans and Veterans groups will “Swift Boat” an Iraq or Afghanistan Veteran and tie said Vet to both the anti-war movement and so-called anti-Iraq War groups even when such groups are not.

Recommend this blog Make no bones about it my fellow believers that refuse to drink the NEOCON cool aide that President Bush's supporters are addicted to, and such acciction knows no political afficliation. The titles of this Blog, trend in Washington, DC toward anyone, military or civilian (regardless of other political views) that barely questions let alone opposes IRAQINAM that makes it IRAQINAM.

Recommend this blog This video is is a short sample of how the VA trains doctors that perform C&P exams. It instructs doctors to ask if the veteran is lying and whether thier is a cultural motive (race) for the veteran to seek benefits.

Recommend this blog I don’t know whether Jay Briseno would have been better off had he fallen through the roof of my house. Knowing insurance companies as they are, the insurance company would most likely have summoned their best legal wizards to try to screw him out of as much compensation as possible. But is that what we’ve become: nothing more moral or ethical or caring than an insurance company legal beagle or claims adjuster, working to save as much for the company as we can?

Recommend this blog "The first time that the issue of interrogations comes up" among top-ranking White House officials, recalled John C. Yoo, who represented the Justice Department. "The CIA guys said, 'We're going to have some real difficulties getting actionable intelligence from detainees'" if interrogators confined themselves to treatment allowed by the Geneva Conventions.

Recommend this blog Absent the paradigm of America’s overwhelming penchant for blissful ignorance there could never have been an Iraq War, nor tax cuts the benefited disproportionately the super wealthy but the burden of which will fall heaviest on all our progeny and our veterans, nor policies that facilitated twisted notions of what defines torture and the right not to be spied upon by our government, and the entire host of disasters that are part and parcel of this horrible Bush era.

Recommend this blog Commander recognized by the Navy as a PTSD expert says the Military has tried to SILENCE his criticism of Mental Health care. On Friday, 22 June, USA Today reporter Gregg Zorova published another in a continuing list of damaging exposes of just how unprepared our Armed Forces has been to deal with Mental Health issues even IF our troops were encouraged to seek help.

Recommend this blog While some aspects of the facts of life may not be what we want or need to take a close look at, those facts of present day political life demand examination and honest acknowledgement. Millions of those who put their lives and limbs on the line to defend others who are reaping huge benefits from this wonderful country have been getting . . . . Well, we all know what they’ve been getting, and we all know it’s time they got better.

Recommend this blog It is such a mess. I have two sons, 19 and 22. I remember well the years of diaper changing; the sometimes near fluid yuck and the horrible, horrible odor. That’s about the only thing I am able to analogize with what George Bush, Dick Cheney, the entire White House crew, the neo-con pundits and think tanks and the supine GOP have led us to in the mid-East and all its ramifications; fiscally, militarily, morally, ethically: a total disaster with no out!

Recommend this blog It has been a long time since I've posted anything to VCS, so thought I would lead off with follow-up on an OLD VCS post that I did WAY back in January 2006. This is directly related to the Air Force trying to down play PTSD even BEFORE the invasion of Iraq. What best way to deal with a problem than to deny it exists - STIGMA THAT IS!Both VETERANS for America and VETERANS for COMMON SENSE need to take a closer look at what really motivated the Air Force to do this and the implications of it for the entire ARMED FORCES going into COMBAT.

Recommend this blog My girlfriend just sent me this email about Blackwater. This makes me SICK!!!! Who really run’s the USA when corporations can put their workers in danger, deny EVERTYTHING and then sue the very families that actually lost their loved ones for 10 MILLION?! We need to help stop corporations from pushing around the little guy. I donated to support the victim’s families @ www.blackwatervictims.com . Still in shock that Blackwater can get away with this! I am trying to really get the word out. So you wanna repost PLEASE DO.

Recommend this blog Interesting. Tragic. Yesterday AP ran an article describing how “Soldiers returning from war are finding it more difficult to get mental health treatment because military insurance is cutting payments to therapists, on top of already low reimbursement rates and a tangle of red tape.”

Recommend this blog As a war veteran, I remember my oath when I joined the military. I agreed to protect and defend our U.S. Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Toward that end, join me in supporting the "no confidence" vote against U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales for his attempts to destroy our Constitution.

Recommend this blog During the budgeting process for 2007, the GOP House and Senate proposed a miserly $7 million for treatment of brain injuries suffered by our combat veterans; $7 million which was half of what had been allocated the previous year. And the rationale: Tight budgets!

Recommend this blog The proper care of our veterans . . . supporting the troops, and everything else is connected by that common thread of needing to belly up to the bar and pay the tab. Now! Today! Not tomorrow. Not trying to dodge the moral obligation, slipping beneath the moral radar, rationalizing, sluffing it off onto someone else’s, some downstream generation’s shoulders.

Recommend this blog Supporting our leaders, an oft-heard cry, is a despicable deprecating, ignorant postulation that “they” must know because I don’t, can’t and don’t want to. I quite willingly grant them authority over me because I think they are better, smarter, more wise than I am. Can any cowering whimper be more repugnant to an individual sense of personal dignity?
