I want to thank White House press secretary Scott McClellan for kicking the sleeping tiger. I, like Representative John Murtha of Pennsylvania am a Marine Corps Vietnam combat vet. The cowardly chickenhawks running this administration have lumped all of us veterans who oppose what our county is doing in Iraq into the "extreme liberal Michael Moore wing" of the Democratic party. McClellan's attack on John Murtha is a shameful disgrace and a personal assault to all who have served whether we support the war or not. We fought for nothing else in Vietnam except for each other. To truly honor those who didn't come home, we owe it to them to learn from our mistakes.
Me, I'm going out to buy a copy of Fahrenheit 911 and register as a Democrat.

Ted, do something else on the list. Start writing your congressman about your feelings and beliefs. One reason we got into this war is that people forgot how we got into VN and how it was continued. One thing we can brag about in VN is that we didn't lose a battle, especially major ones. In this war they can say the same, so far. However, these guys fighting us aren't uneducated peasants, they are showing better aptitude for booby traps and evasion than the VN combatants. But, at least they haven't got so many tunnels.
