NEW APPOINTMENTS FOR THE OKLAHOMA WAR VETERANS COMMISSION, HAVE BEEN APPOINTED BY, OKLAHOMA STATE GOVERNOR, BRAD HENRY.

Governor Brad Henry recently made New Appointments to the Oklahoma War Veterans Commission.

Micheal Taylor from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Will Serve a Three-Year Term, ending July 1, 2010. succeeding Kenneth Pannell. Mr. Taylor will Represent The American Legion.

Also, Bill Finch from Norman, Oklahoma, Will Serve a Three Year Term, ending July 1, 2011, succeeding himself.

Dennis Parrott from Tahlequah, Oklahoma , will Serve a Three Year Term, ending July 1, 2011, succeeding himself.

Mr. Finch will Represent The American Legion and Mr. Parrott Will Represent The Disabled American Veterans.

THE WAR VETERANS COMMISSION IS THE "CONTROLLING BOARD" OF THE OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS.

THE BOARD IS COMPRISED OF (9) NINE MEMBERS, APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR & CONFIRMED, BY THE OKLAHOMA STATE SENATE.

ALL APPOINTMENTS ARE TAKEN FROM LISTS OF NAMES SUBMITTED BY "THE AMERICAN LEGION, VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS, & DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS.

There are Four Members from The American Legion, Three Members from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, & Two Members from the Disabled American Veterans.

THE COMMISSION ADMINISTERS THE VETERANS' PROGRAM, IN OKLAHOMA, THROUGH AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS.

"THIS PROGRAM ...PROVIDES  A  COMPLETE-SERVICE, TO VETERANS OF THIS STATE (OF OKLAHOMA) that includes: NURSING & DOMICILIARY CARE, REHABILITATIVE SERVICES, & ....FIELD SERVICE COUNSELING, IN "FILING OF CLAIMS FOR U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS & STATE BENEFITS."
