By July 1, 2008, a Project for Campaign for Care Packages, for the U.S. Troops, serving in Iraq / Afghanistan, began in the Haskell County, Oklahoma.

At this Time, more Than 50 Boxes, have been prepared, to be sent to the Nine "points of contact", & all the Goodies, contained in the boxes...will go to Benefit more than 1500 Soldiers of Our Armed Forces.

This Campaign for Care Packages, to Our U.S. Troops, is the Second Project, for The San Bois Mountain-Valley Veterans Association of Oklahoma, Inc...founded by Hazel Davis, on November 11, 2007...the Ending of the First 100-Years of Oklahoma Statehood, & the Beginning of a New Century, presenting New Opportunities, for Improved Services to Our Troops & Our Veterans of America.

The Care Packages will be an ongoing task, sponsored by Hazel Davis, & the Veterans Organization, even though the Current Public Campaign has ended for this Summer Event.

Participating in this Event...for this part of the Campaign for Care Packages for the Troops, has been: The Chamber of Commerce / The First National Bank / The Farmers State Bank / The Central National Bank / Mallory-Martin Funeral Home / The Wal-Mart Store...all of Stigler, Oklahoma...& the Choctaw Indian Nation of Oklahoma, with Headquarters, in Durant, Oklahoma.

Volunteers for the Packaging of the Boxes were: Janice Williams, Beverly Franks, Noretta Livesay, Jacqueline Jason, Alice Price, & Towanna Kerklin of Stigler, Oklahoma & Karen Stephens, Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Stigler, Oklahoma.

Since Hazel owns / operates a Roadside Grocery / Diner...travelers & passersby...are always, stopping in for a cold drink & a snack or a sandwich & helping with provisions, for Care Packages, for the Troops...

A Pop Box, was placed Outside the Olde Store Building, on Hwy 31, in the Southern Part of Haskell County, and All Proceeds from Sales of Items from it...will go toward More Care Package Items & Postage Fees, for these Care Packages, so that Our U.S. Troops, will Know That We Still Care About Them...& Hope That They Return to Their Family Members & Loved Ones.

Incorporators of The San Bois Mountain-Valley Veterans Association of Oklahoma, Inc., are: J.D. Decker, a Resident at the Spanish War Veterans Colony of Wilburton, Oklahoma (a Veteran of WWII, who has Experience as a U.S. Marshall, & a former Lobbyist, at the Oklahoma State Capitol Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma); Don Thompson a resident of The San Bois Mountain, sw of LeQuire, Oklahoma...a Veteran of the Vietnam War...whose Relative was the Thompson, who sailed the Mississippi, before Lewis & Clark & whose maps, were used by the team of the Lewis & Clark Expedition; Stephen Sisco, an Artist, & Veterans of Vietnam War, residing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (who also, painted the Logo / Painting, which will be put on t-shirts / jackets...to be sold for support of more items for care packages to the troops); L.B. Cloud, a Veteran of the Korean War...who recently had to be placed in a Nursing Home...he served in the Navy; & the Founder of the Organization, Hazel Davis, a Widow of a Veteran.

Another Public Campaign, is scheduled, in Haskell County, for the Month of November, for the Christmas Care Packages, to the Troops.

All Particpation / Volunteer Services, have been appreciated. We Hope More People, will join us, from across the State of Oklahoma, as We Continue This Service, to Show Our Appreciation to Our Troops.

OUR MILITARY SOLDIERS / VETERANS..."DESERVE NOTHING LESS THAN OUR FULL SUPPORT" for Their Benefit...since they have so Willingly Served on Behalf of Each of Us...who cannot perform that duty, on our own.

Besides the Care Packages, More Than 500 Letters, Cards, & Reading Material was sent to Those Contact Point, Locations, too.   (Contributed by Hazel Davis, bojacks1@yahoo.com)
