Genocide in Sudan

Only a few weeks after the world looked back to the Rwandan genocide, in which hundreds of thousands of civilians were killed, the nations of the world are looking on similar events occurring in Darfur, Sudan, where little action is being taken.

An excellent New York Times report today illustrates the scale of the problem (see http://www.veteransforcommonsense.org/NewsArticle.cfm?ID="2261)."

According to a recent Congressional Research Service report, 300,000 civilians may die by the end of the year if dramatic action is not taken.

Yesterday the African Union agreed to increase their peacekeeping force to over 3,000 soldiers. Veterans for Common Sense believes that American foreign policy should be in line with our values. Please contact your Congressional representatives and urge them to support the African Union mission with airlift capacity, logistical support, and cash.
