Veterans Today came to my attention when one of my readers at VFA sent me a copy of an article that ran on this Veterans' Resource regarding the fact that the mainstream Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs) have become stagnant as leadership tends to focus on pandering to members of Congress or being manipulated by one political party or another instead of in the opposite...

What I personally came away agreeing with in that article was the leaders of Veterans Organizatons that have maintained offices in Washington (forever) should be manipulating members of Congress (most of whom have never served in defense of the nation) to do what the significant membership (supposedly Veterans) of those organizations want. Instead, we Veterans have been promised and preached to about 'Mandatory funding of the VA Medical and Claims processing system,' but think seriously about it. When is the American Legion and VFW (among others) actually going to deliver on that empty promise? Don't hold your breath... 

Those mainstream VSOs that emphasize a partisan Flag Amendment costing Congress nothing, and blatantly siding with this administration and one political party on most every 'foreign policy issue' having nothing to do with Veterans Rights or Benefits were almost able to deliver us a Flag Amendment that we really don't need. How come the leaders of the VFW, American Legon and so on cannot use the same clout to deliver us Mandatory Funding of the VA Budget?

Today is my birthday, I dedicate it to America's Veterans, and I am honored to be born a few days before Veterans Day.

To those who say criticism of mainstream Veterans Organizations that do not deliver is inappropriate at this time of year I say, VETERANS DAY is EXACTLY the right time to tell the leaders of our National VSOs that they are NAKED, and most of us see them, but them. Deliver America's Veterans the Mandatory Funding YOU forever promise NOT any BS Flag Amendment, and at least my criticism will STOP!
