Apr. 30: Not for Prying Eyes - Urgent Note from Paul Sullivan at VCS

Shhh! We need funding!

Dear VCS Supporters:

Veterans for Common Sense works and sweats to get the word out about what veterans face when they go to VA looking for help, including the infamous VA e-mail where top VA political appointees covered up the tragic veteran suicide epidemic.

( Shhh . . . to get more VA e-mails and to keep fighting for our veterans, VCS needs $3,000 by the last day of April to reach our monthly goal. Please click on this link and set up a sustaining monthly donation to VCS. )

Here are three high-profile examples of the national publicity VCS generated about our lawsuit with Veterans United for Truth against VA to make sure VA never again turns away a suicidal veteran:

1. KGO TV News in San Francisco said our VCS and VUFT lawsuit is "one of the most important trials ever involving America's veterans." "We want the veterans to be encouraged to go to VA if they have any problems, and we want VA to be ready, willing and able to help the vets when they show up," said Paul Sullivan from Veterans for Common Sense.

2. VCS was quoted in The New York Times in a feature story highlighting VA's new suicide hotline set up in response to our lawsuit. To date, 720 veterans have been rescued as a result of the hotline. Paul Sullivan, the director of Veterans for Common Sense, said of the department: “I’m pleased they’re responding. However, much more needs to be done so vets aren’t turned away from health care and don’t have to wait for benefits."

3. VCS was on TV again with CBS, the first reporters to uncover the shocking story about VA's Dr. Ira Katz hiding the true number of veteran suicides. This VA deception was uncovered as part of the VCS landmark lawsuit against VA. "This 12,000 attempted suicides per year shows clearly, without a doubt, that there is an epidemic of suicides among veterans," said Paul Sullivan of Veterans for Common Sense.

Your support keeps VCS fighting all year long. Is it worth a monthly donation, starting today, to improve VA policies in Washington and make sure our veterans overcome VA delays and denials for healthcare and benefits?

We all agree we want to avoid watching another generation of our war veterans living on the streets and going without heathcare. Please, set up a monthly contribution today to help Veterans for Common Sense fight for our veterans all year long. Our goal is $3,000 more for April, and we thank you for helping.

Thank you,

Paul Sullivan
