Iran pressing for OPEC output cut, rest opposed-source

VIENNA, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Iran is seeking a cut in OPEC oil production at a closed door meeting of the group but all other members want to keep pumping near maximum levels to tame high prices, an OPEC source said on Tuesday.

It was unclear how much Iran wanted to trim from OPEC's 28 million barrels per day official ceiling.

"It's all getting very political," the source said.

Iran is at odds with the United Nations' nuclear watchdog over its atomic prgramme, but Iranian Oil Minister Kazem Vaziri said earlier on Tuesday there was no question of OPEC's second biggest producer halting its exports.
