What Determines the Position of Being a "Commander in Chief"
Posted By Hazel Davis at 3:15 PM

One can Only Imagine the Impact George Washington has had, on the "Progress in America, & For the Citizens of America".

The Life of George Washington, shows that "he is an Excellent Role Model, for anyone who is contemplating a career in the Military..and to Become Part of the Solution to the Problems, to which the Amercans are Faced With, in this Day & Time.

George Washington was born to Augustine Washington & Mary Ball, on February 22, 1732. By 1752, when he was about 19 years old, he was Willing to "charge ahead" with life.

Allow me to Quote, from a book on the Life of George Washington:

George's Brother, Lawrence Washington, passed away in 1752.

From this Event, Life Was Changed for the Future President of The United States of America, & a Great Military Life, was Just Ahead, for George Washington.

When Lawrence Washington passed away, the settlement of Lawrence's Affairs, was slow & complicated. It was sometime later, that George Washington, completed the Inventory & Survey of the Lands, belonging to Lawrence Washington.

Lawrence Washington had been a Stockholder in the Ohio Company & Adjutant of the Colony. To Seek that Position for Young George Washington, a Natural Ambition.

Col. William Fitzhugh, would be the Deciding Factor in filling that Position that had been held by Lawrence Washington.

Fitzhugh penned a letter, for George to send to the Governor of that area.

About that time, September 1, 1752, a New Lodge of Masons, held it's First Meeting in Fredericksburg, & soon attracted members. Under Daniel Campbell, as Master, a Class of Five was Initiated on November 4, 1752.

The are of the "Middle Neck" between the Rappahannock & the York, was Assigned to George Washington. This was the Most Remote & Least Interesting.

It was a Distinction for George to be Named Adjutant, BEFORE HE WAS AGE 21.& to be allowed to be paid, of L100 per annum.

On February 1, 1753, George presented his commission to the Co9urt of Spotsylvania & Took the Various Oaths; & he sought & procurd the Influence of the Powerful William Nelson, for the Vacancy that might occur if Fitzhugh found himself unable to serve.

WHEN GEORGE WASHINGTON "TOOK THE OATH" AS ADJUTANT, "HE BECAME, OFFICIALLY, MAJOR WASHINGTON".

George was a Person of Much Self-Discipline, training himself, & he became a Role Model, & had many followers.

Before 1754, when George was about age 22, he "resigned his Position as Colonel, of the Virginia Regiment, but it Did Not Destroy His Ambition for a Military Career.

George had Resigned, because he felt that Governor Dinwiddie had Humilitated him, Personally & hd Depried Him of Public Honors, by Dividing the troops into Independent Companies. Instead of being Colonel, he would have been "demoted" to being a Colonial Captain, with half-pay for Officers pay.

George Would Not Allow Anyone to Demote Him, or Embarrass Him, again. He went on to be a Great Leader, of the Military & in the Political Position.

William Shirley, the son of the Governor of Massachusetts fascinated George Washington, because of the Military Skills of Young Mr. Shirley. This Mr. Shirley, Played a Large Part in Teaching Young George, more about Military Service actions.

Maj. General Edward Braddock, was already appointed as Commander in Chief, of the Forces in North America.

On May 10, 1755, George Washington, was appointed to position as Aide to General Braddock. In July 13, General Braddock died.

On August 13, George Received a Letter from his cousin, Warner Lewis, who had been in Williamsburg for the General Assembly. There had been L40,000 set aside for the Defence of the Colony.

George Was Appointed as Commander in Chief of the Armies, "only if George Could Be in Total-Control", doing the Actions, "as to His Command". Govenor Dinwiddie allowed it to be so, & General George Washington took that position August 31, 1755, at the age of 23.

In 1759, George Washington & Martha Dandridge-Curtis, were married.

George left the Army in 1758, to Enter Politics. From 1759 to 1774, He was of the House of Burgesses. He resigned that position, to Once Again, "take Command of the Troops, against the British, 1775". By 1781, Victory Celebrations were held by many, since the War had Been Won.

By 1787, George Washington, once again, Entered Politics. On April 30, 1789, George Was Elected as the First President of the United States of America. He toured the Country from 1789 to 1791. He was also, Re-Elected in 1792.

By 1797, George left the Office of the Presidency, & Adams became President, so Once Again George Washington, was in the Position of Being "Commander in Chief" of the Armies, & the National Security.

Does this Not Prove, that an Individual Does Not Have to Be U.S. President to "Be Appointed as Commander-in-Chief" of the Armies & National Security of North American?

But, being that George Washington, Was Not President, by 1798, He Was Still Appointed to that Position...& yet He Had Been a U.S. President, too.

From being a Major, before the age of 21, to being a Colonel, to that of Becoming the "Commander in Chief", by Age 23, George had "come a long way", in Military Service & in the Political Atmosphere, & had many Followers, who had Great Respect for General Washington.

George Washington, as Commander in Chief, in 1798, "Commanded the Armies & National Security, from his Plantation"....til his death in 1799.

George Washington, Well-Respected, left this world, with these  words of being, "The Father of Our Country"...The United States of America, the Home of the Free, the Land of the Brave...& George had been, just that...a Brave Soldier, in the time of need, for the Founding of the Government of the United States of America, & the Citizens, therein.

A woman, raised with knowledge & acquaintance of the Founding Fathers, since birth, Dolley Payne/Paine-Todd-Madison, had also, known George Washington, during his tenure of Military Service, & she had served as Hostess of the Presidents House & in his Private Home, on many occasions, & she continued in the Political Scene, for over 72 years...through all the years, which took place for the Resolutions, of the Plans of the Foundiing Fathers, for the People of America.  Dolley had much respect for General Washington, & his family, as she should, since George Washington, is a relative to her, through the Montague Family Ancestory...of whose "Montague Seal" was used to "Seal the Documents of the Government of The United States of America", to "Stay Intact, for Succeeding Generations"...Requiring All Citizens of America, to "Abide by the Constitutional Laws" which had been Established for Their Benefit !

(Both George Washington & Dolley Madison, & I, Descend from the Montague Family Ancestory, both Abroad & in America) .................(Hazel Davis, bojacks1@yahoo.com).
