Dear Congress: Not just Ira Katz
Posted By K9USAFRet at 2:28 PM

Congress should not be fooled by Gordon Mansfield or any of the other members of the VA Death Squads. Yes indeed, I said Death Squads. Every management official at every medical and mental health facility, every regional office, and in every branch of every department in the VBA and VHA are members.

You think this is a bit much? I do not. Every individual hired has a moral and ethical mandate to fulfill the mission of the DVA, including "do no harm". When you are hired you either have morals and act ethically, or you do not. And it is quite apparent that there is no one in the DVA, VHA, or VBA that does, otherwise someone would have come forward and yes, laying their job and integrity on the line, provided the evidence necessary to convict those involved in making policies contrary to the law.

Yesterday, I wrote that responsibility is not delegated.  But in testimony to Senator Murray, Gordon Mansfield could only muster that he shared her concern. Sir, that is a blatant lie. You more than any because of your tenure at the VA have been instrumental in the establishment of corporate culture and ethics and your behavior and actions related to the functions of the VA, the incorporation of rules, regulations, and lawyers to build a defensive fort meant to deny eligibility, nexus, service connection and benefits to veterans, and the unethical immoral mentality of waiting for veterans to die.

Now I ask you all, if given a choice to die slowly, in agony and pain, without medical and financial support, and without hope of a being granted service connection for a terminal disease or being shot through the heart, which would you choose? To watch report after report presented to Congress that are nothing but lies and coverups, denials and blame laying, knowing that it is really the premeditated, callous, and unethical corporate behaviour of a pack of dogs bent on the exact opposite premises of the organizations missions, then you must surely realize that this is no different than murdering the populace in the name of democracy. 'Why did you murder the whole village General?' 'Sir, I did not murder them, but they kept asking us for due process, earned benefits, and honorable treatment and "el Presidente" says they "volunteered" to be shot.'

Yes, the sheer lack of anything more than excuse making and one apology after another is reason enough for their resignations. Mr. Mansfield says that "he would not characterize the e-mail as keeping information from Congress". I agree. It is much more. Not only is it keeping information from veterans, the American public, the media, and the Congress but also a stark admission of a fundamental philosophy of criminal collusion and a total lack of ethics in addressing potential problems and failures with the management in the DVA.

And Senator Murray, Congressmen Filner and Hall, and all those who support veterans, I ask you one question and do not expect any hemming and hawing...

Are you unable to do anything more than chew them out; can you not pass legislation mandating changes in funding and processes; an overhaul of the DVA through tightly worded legislation and daily oversight that puts everyone of these "administrators" under so much pressure they resign?

I do know that there are many people in the DVA that share our concern for veterans and do what they can. But the one thing they will not do is put the welfare of those that serve above their own. But as I have said before, actions speak louder than words.
