I'm not endorsing anyone, yet New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, a candidate for President, has the support of retired Army Lieutenant General Robert Gard, who calls for a well-planned withdrawal from the Iraq War quagmire. VCS posts Richardson's video describing his plan only as a service to our members to spark discussion about how to end the Iraq War without it turning into another Stalingrad. Here is a video describing Richardson's plan What do you think? Who has the best plan to protect our troops from further deaths, wounds, injuries, and illnesses? Who has the best plan to take care of our veterans once they return home? Again, I am not endorsing any candidate. However, I do believe that all our troops should return home in an orderly fashion, as this is in the best interest of protecting American soil and supporting our troops. Tags:

Matt Just an FYI on March 3 or 4th another Veteran was assisted across the street from Audie Murphy VA hospital in San Antonio and got out of his wheel chair put his oxygen tank on the ground got a gun out of his car and shot himself in the parking lot. In front of the poor lady who helped him across the street and a couple of others. WAY TO GO VA!!! If you delay and deny a little more maybe all of us Veterans will off ourselves and you wont have to pay a dime. Thanks for living up to the promises made to all of us!!! A bitter disgusted angry vet still waiting ... on the VA.

Cat Moves Richardson can promise and imply anything he wants to. His record here in New Mexico is a trail of promises and no carry throughs. The man, now hiding behind a beard, has cost the tax payers here money this poor state can not afford on pie in the sky plans. Now he wants to do the same thing nationally. America can't afford him. Our troops can't afford him.

Greetings, I am working on a legislative project that would provide all veterans a reduced retirement benefit, including MWR, PX, Commissary and health benefits, with 15 years or more of active federal as part of a stimulus package. I am contacting your organization in an effort to gauge the amount of support and interest in such a project. Please contact me at: 1-(703) 373-7324 to discuss this further. Warm Regards, Vets Legislative Project.

Dr. Dan Potenza NH VA hospital Written by Peter Macdonald 465 Packersfalls rd Lee NH 03824 603-659-6217 I write this letter because I just do not believe people understand. I wrote a book “Marine Corps Gallantry or Psychosis. By Sgt Macdonald” The purpose was so my daughters would understand why their father was as he is. Imagine waking up in a military hospital with the mind of an infant as a 17 year old Marine. I got a Traumatic Brain Injury from a car accident after boot camp. Imagine not knowing any one or any thing and being sent back to active duty. Imagine being shipped off to active duty with the mind of a 10 year old. Imagine the confusion, naïve, ignorant person that must fit into military life. The structure environment and my desire to learn convinced the commander at MCAS El Toro Cailf to send me overseas rather than reveal the admin error. My memory of the U.S. quickly faded as I got deeper into my 31 months overseas tour. I wrote letters to the people that told me that they were family and took school classes thorough the mail. I rose through the ranks to Sgt because my mission came first and I had no emotion or compaction until the mission was complete. I was injured twice more in separate combat support missions. Each time I would set the pain aside because the word was Marines don’t feel pain. Deep in the Jungle while American Advisor on Convoy I kill with a bayonet to get my M-16 back from the enemy. The complete disregard and lack of feelings for taking of another human life now haunts me every day since I returned. The first five years back were the worst. There was no structured environment. I had no understanding how to react to different situation. Killing and fighting was a norm then, now I was in a structured society were this was wrong. I did not know how to relate to “round eyed” woman that spoke English. I went to college for the next 8 years and volunteered to help others. These two events allowed me to learn and adjust to civilian life. I did not understand many things even today of what or why things happen. I to this day do not remember any part of my life before my 17 birthday. Imagine being asked by people from a different town for help with a zoning issue because of a letter to the editor that you wrote. Imagine meeting the nicest family that the Madbury NH selectmen were using government powers for personal revenge to run families the selectmen did not want living in Madbury NH out. Imagine helping this family and having Judge Peter Fauver violating the Constitution and laws to protect these selectmen. Imagine the NH Supreme Court refusing to hear a case that question the illegal acts of a judge. Imagine having the governor send the State Police to your house to tell you to stop helping this family. Imagine having the state police harass you family at work and home to stop you. Imagine being put in jail and losing your freedom for 6 months because you will not stop. Imagine when you ask newly elected NH Congress woman Shea-Porter for help she has the Dover NH police arrest you to stop your next letter to the editor. Imagine Shea-Porter having a VA Dr file commitment orders with out merit to have you committed to the funny farm. Imagine having the NH Director of the Veterans medial care stop your VA medical for political self gain. Imagine I have not stopped helping this family because I will not let what so many Veterans from the start of the U.S. gave their lives for, be diminished. I do not understand. Fans on the Red Sox and Globe blogs tell me to stop. The Newspapers and Media refuse to inform the people of government crimes. The one thing that I wanted to tell Dr Dan yesterday and I forgot was the need that I feel every day to want to die. Fans say that they are veterans yet they have no desire to help other U.S. citizens expose the wrongs in government. The State, Dover and Lee NH police all refuse to allow me to file a complaint against Shea-Porter for filing a false police report on me. I have violated no laws yet the government has, why? I am in a world that I do not belong but how do I tell people. People like Dr Dan, Dr McCollum and the Vietnam Vet at the hospital receiving room are the reason I continue. The pain from my injuries get worse every day. The depression deep in my head continues to expand as I wonder why I ever wanted to see the U.S. Imagine every day listening to other Marines describe this wonderful country and you can only dream of living long enough to maybe see it once. Imagine now every day at the most inopportune times reliving times no human being should ever be exposed to. I understand how you can not conceive why returning Veterans commit suicide. Imagine living in a place where reality is just living through the mission. Now imagine coming back to a civilized society where people (whom do not understand) shun you, cast you aside or degrade you. Imagine being a 100% returning disabled Veteran having the VA stop your medical care. Imagine being a Veteran on an island where no one will help you and the confusing responses conflict with what you learned as a U.S. Marine. This letter has nothing to do with my situation. Imagine what the returning Veterans are going through and have no way to make others hear or understand. The Madbury family is every one of you and what the State of New Hampshire and the United States of America has done to this Veteran is not me but every Veteran that ever defended this nation. You just do not understand and we do not understand how to inform you. Peter Macdonald Sgt USMC Semper Fi

As a vet drafted during the Korean War, I have wondered ever since why that conflict--which set a precedence for U.S. military intervention--has gone virtually unheeded, even while it remains unresolved to this day. Furthermore, I keep wondering why even less attention has been paid to the ordinary foot soldier. As we have gone from one such undeclared war ever since then, that question has plagued me, especially since I can remember how people like Ernie Pyle and Bill Mauldin managed to portray the war through the eyes of the common G.I. Because that issue has nagged at me ever since, I took it upon myself to write a novel about Korea from that perspective. It's called "Battle Songs: A Story of the Korean War in Four Movements." If any of my fellow Korean War veterans, or veterans of any of the wars we have fought since then, are interested, they can learn more about that book by going into Amazon.com and typing in my name or the name of the book. Whether members do that or not, please do what you can to remind folks to move a step beyond such sloganeering as "Support our troops," and focus on the individual soldier struggling to understand his or her own role in the struggle, and how being in such a war can alter the life of a single individual.

Complaint to VA and News Media 9-25-07 A copy to Editor, NH Governor, NH VA director Levenston and VA Dr Potenza Written by Peter Macdonald 465 Packersfalls rd Lee NH 03824 603-659-6217 The News Media across the United States has a moral and ethical obligation to publish this opinion to the people. Kids give their lives for your right to print and speak the truth freely. These kids become Veterans. I have done nothing wrong. I have violated no laws or VA rules. What I have done is volunteer my time to help people in need since my discharge in 1974. I came back from a 31 month overseas tour with three life changing permanent disabilities. Two came in separate combat missions. I have lived daily since with the vision of my first kill deep in the jungle. I was American Advisor on 8 convoys. The news media owes me nothing. The news media owes the kids that became a veteran the obligation to print this letter, unedited. There is no question that the Madbury NH selectmen did use government power to harm local residents. They did not deny it under oath. Judge Peter Fauver violated the Constitution many times to intentionally harm NH residents. The NH Supreme Court refused to hear a case that questioned the integrity of the Courts. These are documented facts. NH officials to stop me from Volunteering to help Madbury residents has interfered with my Veterans Medical care for disabilities received defending this nation. The Director of the NH VA has now stopped my medical care as of March 07. A Dr Potenza did in Sept had a cat scan done because the head pain and numbness on the left side of my face has only gotten worse since March. I have an armed guard follow me around the Manchester VA Hospital at all times. Discrimination is against the law. To intentionally harm a veteran for personal political gain is a crime of the highest magnitude. Last week when my wife and I went to the VA hospital to get the results of the cat scan the guard was force full and rude. My cat scan showed a “abnormal Spot” on the back side of my brain. I can not get medical care even though this is a service disability. I was injured in the Marine Corps defending the equal protection of the law for everyone. My rights have been violated because I volunteer to help others. The news media refuses to inform the public of the facts. My letters are censored. The people of the United States should be outraged, but the facts are kept from them. I have not in any way been violent. I have followed the law and rules of society to help this Madbury family. Judges and Government officials have violated the Constitution to stop me. The news media across the United States has violated the trust of the people for what ever reason I do not know. I continue not for self gain but for all those veterans over the years that defended the people’s rights. We have a moral and ethical obligation not to let what these kids that became veterans sacrificed be in vain. Any one whom reads this letter should have your local papers publish it and e-mail this letter to the VA inspector general as Vaoighotline@va.gov and the NH governor at john.lynch@nh.gov Peter Macdonald Sgt USMC Semper Fi |
